Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt from an\u00a0Iranian assassination squad, Pete Hegseth, U.S Secretary of\u00a0<\/b>War, announced in a new update on the war in the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dramatic announcement came during a press conference on Wednesday, where Hegseth shared new details about the escalating conflict in the Middle East. According to the U.S Secretary of War, the Iranian unit had attempted to assassinate Donald Trump, but the US military tracked down the group\u2019s leader and killed him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso yesterday, the leader of the unit who attempted to assassinate President Trump has been hunted down and killed,\u201d Pete Hegseth said. \u201cIran tried to kill President Trump. And President Trump got the last laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n

The strong remarks didn\u2019t stop there. Hegseth continued by emphasizing that the United States, working alongside Israel, is making major progress in its military campaign against Iran. Just four days after launching joint strikes, he signaled that the operation is far from over.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have only just begun,\u201d Hegseth said, referring to efforts aimed at crippling Iran\u2019s military capabilities.<\/p>\n

He went even further, claiming the US is winning the fight \u201cdecisively, devastatingly and without mercy.\u201d More American forces \u2014 including fighter jets and bombers \u2014 are expected to arrive in the region soon, he added.<\/p>\n

Speaking about drone threats, Hegseth said: \u201cWe have pushed every counter-UAS system possible forward, sparing no expense or capability. Like I said, this does not mean we stop everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the bold statements, he stressed that the mission is still in its early stages.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very early and, as President Trump has said, we will take all the time we need to make sure that we succeed\u2026 They are toast, and they know it, or at least soon enough they will know it.<\/p>\n

In another striking claim, Hegseth said allied forces would take full control of Iranian airspace within days.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting last night and to be completed in a few days in under a week, the two most powerful air forces in the world will have complete control of Iranian skies. Uncontested airspace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Trump himself alleged that Iran had tried to assassinate him twice. He made the comments while speaking about the reported death of Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\n
