Bill Clinton was asked directly before the House of Representatives\u2019 Oversight Committee in New York whether he believes that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On January 20, the U.S. Department of Justice released more than three million files related to convicted sex offender\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. Last week, former President\u00a0Bill Clinton\u00a0<\/a>\u2014 who has not been accused of wrongdoing \u2014 testified before the House of Representatives\u2019 Oversight Committee in New York.<\/p>\n

Newly released footage from the closed-door depositions captures a series of exchanges tied to the ongoing investigations into Epstein. Clinton was questioned behind closed doors over two days. His testimony followed\u00a0Hillary Clinton\u2019s\u00a0<\/a>deposition the day before at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center.<\/p>\n

The couple had previously resisted calls to testify before the congressional committee. According to\u00a0BBC News<\/a>, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said in early February that it \u201cbecame clear that we would hold them in contempt\u201d and that the Clintons subsequently \u201ccaved.\u201d Bill Clinton is the first sitting or former president to be compelled to testify before Congress.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in a New York prison cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial. During the deposition, Clinton was asked directly: \u201cI would just like to ask you, personally and directly: do you believe that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself?\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Cheryl Mills, a longtime counselor to the Clinton family, asked: \u201cAre you asking him to speculate on how Mr. Epstein died?\u201d<\/p>\n

A committee member then reframed the question, asking whether Clinton\u2019s \u201cfriend\u201d Jeffrey Epstein was suicidal. Mills again intervened, disputing the characterization of the relationship and insisting that Clinton and Epstein were not friends but merely \u201cfriendly.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0UNILAD<\/a>, Clinton eventually responded: \u201cI don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t know what the medical finding was. I think maybe he finally got caught and\u2013 I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n
