Ever since the devastating diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, a neurological disorder that leads to muscle rigidity and excruciating spasms, singer\u00a0Celine Dion<\/a>\u00a0has been on a roller coaster of ups and downs.<\/p>\n

Sadly, this condition forced her to step down from singing and performing, and pretty much from a number of things she has been doing her entire life.<\/p>\n

In the past year, the singer posted two videos on her social media, one in English and one in French, in which she explained that due to her serious sickness, she is unable to \u201csing the way I\u2019m used to.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that the muscle spasm impacts every aspect of her everyday living. \u201cIt\u2019s been incredibly difficult for me to face these obstacles and talk about everything that has happened to me,\u201d\u00a0she continued.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve had health problems for quite some time.\u201d Her tours have been postponed again. \u201cI can only sing,\u201d\u00a0Dion added.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve done that my whole life.\u00a0And it\u2019s what I\u2019m most passionate about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, her sister Claudette provided a health update on Dion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are keeping our fingers crossed in the quest to find a remedy for Celine\u2019s distressing ailment. The spasms are uncontrollable,\u201d Claudette said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know how people often abruptly wake up due to a leg or calf cramp? It\u2019s somewhat akin to that, but it affects all her muscles. There\u2019s little we can do to ease her suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s putting in every effort to regain her health. She\u2019s a resilient woman,\u201d she added, appreciating her sister.<\/p>\n

Claudette revealed that Dion is taken care of by her other sister, Linda, and that her children are also by her side.<\/h2>\n

In November of last year, Dion made a rare public appearance at a hockey game in Las Vegas. She looked positively radiant and that gave her fans hope that she would be even better and that her health would further improve.<\/p>\n

Sadly, the\u00a0All by Myself<\/em>\u00a0singer<\/a>\u00a0is now experiencing issues with her vocal cords as well.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Radar Online,\u00a0<\/em>Dion is desperate to perform again, even if that means her being on stage in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n

At the moment, Dion is undergoing extensive treatments. Sadly, her sister revealed that the prognosis isn\u2019t promising.<\/h2>\n

\u201cShe doesn\u2019t have control over her muscles \u2014 and\u00a0vocal cords\u00a0are muscles,\u201d\u00a0Claudette told the\u00a0National Enquirer\u00a0<\/em>last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s true that in both our dreams and hers,\u00a0the goal\u00a0<\/strong>is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don\u2019t know,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Reports are that those living with this syndrome can end up being confined to a wheelchair, but this isn\u2019t what bothers Dion the most. In fact, she\u2019s mostly concerned because of the possibility of losing her voice.<\/p>\n

\u201cCeline\u00a0would be content to just sit in a chair and sing to entertain her audiences,\u201d an insider told\u00a0Radar Online<\/em>. \u201cBut her voice is just not coming back the way that would allow her to perform or record again.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has spasms in her vocal cords. She can sing fine \u2014 just like you know Celine for a few notes, then a spasm kicks in and throws what she\u2019s singing completely out of whack.<\/p>\n

\u201cSadly, it\u2019s doesn\u2019t seem to be repairable \u2014 whether through surgery or therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n

We are so very sorry to be hearing this. Our thoughts and prayers are with Celine Dion and we all hope she would be able to perform again in the future, just as she wishes and hopes.<\/p>\n
