US citizens are reportedly being fired for negatively remarking on the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, with casualties allegedly including university educators, political analysts, and people associated with NFL teams.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday (September 10),\u00a0conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated<\/a>\u00a0during a campus event at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old was a close ally of US President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>, who has expressed his and First Lady\u00a0Melania Trump<\/a>\u2019s \u2018sympathies\u2019 for\u00a0his wife, Erika Kirk<\/a>, and their young children.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0myriad of celebrities<\/a>\u00a0have also paid their respects, alongside political figures like former US President\u00a0Barack Obama<\/a>\u00a0and Trump\u2019s 2024 Presidential Election opponent,\u00a0Kamala Harris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both have condemned\u00a0Kirk\u2019s killing<\/a>, the investigation of which is ongoing.<\/p>\n

Other prominent figures, such as\u00a0horror author Stephen King<\/a>, have made comments that some have blasted as \u2018insensitive\u2019 online.<\/p>\n

The 77-year-old said that Kirk allegedly wanted to \u2018stone gays to death\u2019,\u00a0a remark he has since apologized for<\/a>\u00a0after Elon Musk\u00a0called him a \u2018liar\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

Reuters\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that a new website called \u2018Expose Charlie\u2019s Murderers\u2019 has been set up by campaigners. The aim is to \u2018expose\u2019 employees or students who are \u2018supporting political violence online\u2019.<\/p>\n

It has the names of numerous\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0users who have allegedly made comments about the father-of-two\u2019s killing online.<\/p>\n

Some of these people have their full name listed, as well as their location, employer details, as well as Instagram and Facebook profiles.<\/p>\n

According to a Reuters tally based on interviews, public statements, and local press reports, a handful of people have lost their jobs because of comments made online.<\/p>\n

One of these is believed to be\u00a0political analyst Matthew Dowd<\/a>, who was\u00a0reportedly fired from MSNBC<\/a>\u00a0after calling Kirk one of the \u2018most divisive\u2019 young political figures.<\/p>\n

In a conversation, he alleged the deceased was known for \u2018pushing hate speech\u2026 sort of aimed at certain groups\u2019 whilst he was alive.<\/p>\n

MSNBC has apologized for comments made by a political analyst (X\/MSNBCPR)<\/cite><\/div>\n

MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler has since slammed Dowd\u2019s comments, calling them \u2018inappropriate, insensitive, and unacceptable\u2019 in an apology shared via the company\u2019s X account.<\/p>\n

Variety reported that a network source\u00a0confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the 64-year-old has since been fired from his position.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0DC Comics<\/a>\u00a0has abruptly canceled its new monthly Batman spinoff,\u00a0Red Hood<\/em>, after its proposed writer, Gretchen Felker-Martin, appeared to celebrate Kirk\u2019s assassination in social media posts.<\/p>\n

In a statement, DC Comics said it placed the \u2018highest value on [its] creators and community and affirms the right to peaceful, individual expression of personal viewpoints.<\/p>\n

\u201cPosts or public comments that can be viewed as promoting hostility or violence are inconsistent with DC\u2019s standards of conduct,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n

A handful of educators have also allegedly been permanently suspended from their roles,\u00a0according to<\/a>\u00a0NDTV.<\/p>\n

One of these people worked at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), according to a statement from Sidney McPhee, the institution\u2019s president.<\/p>\n

He said that comments made by the person were \u2018inconsistent with our values and have undermined the university\u2019s credibility and reputation with our students, faculty, staff and the community at large\u2019.<\/p>\n

They added that the employee has \u2018been fired effectively immediately\u2019.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Newsweek\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that Charlie Rock, a\u00a0football<\/a>\u00a0communications coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, posted an image of Kirk on X with the caption: \u201cWhy are yall sad? Your man said it was worth it …\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement, the\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0side said it did not \u2018condone violence of any kind\u2019 and they were \u2018taking this matter very seriously and [had] accordingly addressed it with the individual\u2019.<\/p>\n

Fox News\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0Rock\u2019s firing, citing a source briefed on the situation.<\/p>\n

According to an X thread, posted by investigative researcher Parker Thayer, up to 60 people may have lost their jobs after allegedly making remarks about the activist\u2019s assassination.<\/p>\n

Conspiracy theorist<\/a>\u00a0Laura Loomer has said that anyone who is \u2018sick enough\u2019 to celebrate Kirk\u2019s death will have their \u2018whole future professional aspirations ruined\u2019 by far-right protestors.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, US lawmaker Clay Higgins typed that anyone caught running \u2018their mouth with their smartass hatred celebrating the heinous murder of that beautiful young man\u2019 needed to be \u2018banned from ALL PLATFORMS FOREVER.\u2019<\/p>\n

Police have\u00a0named the suspect in the killing<\/a>\u00a0of Kirk as Tyler Robinson, a Utah native who is currently being held without bail.<\/p>\n
